Rachel

My wife and I met Rachel, who is a senior and will be finishing school in only a couple of days.

We met on the campus of Juniata college. The students at Juniata finished up and graduated last week and it felt a little strange being on of the only people on the whole campus. I’m sure there were a few people around, but we didn’t see many.

When we started I just got Rachel to stand next to a tree. I’m not a huge fan of putting a tree in senior pictures. Only because they are in every senior picture or so it seems. So we did a few there and then just took a walk. Juniata’s campus has a lot of great places.

It was after 7p.m. and the sun was low in the sky. That was the plan, to have good sunlight. Unfortunately the sun hid behind a cloud for the most of this shoot. I had a flash and my wife to hold it and move it for me so we made out ok.

I wanted to try something with a dark surrounding so we went to Cloister hall. Some folks may know it as the Arch. We took a few there and then moved to Halbritter and took several shots there.

I thought that would be enough, but when walking toward the cars I spotted some beautiful purple flowers. We stopped, we shot and then we finished for the night. I guess we spent around an hour and Rachel and her mom were great and I thank them for letting me take the photos.

I look forward to taking more senior photos in the future. It’s fun to get to know Seniors, what they like, and what the envision in their photos.
