Jordan & Tara – Wedding

I was originally scheduled to be just the DJ for this wedding, but when meeting with the couple to go over plans the week prior to the event, they ask if I would shoot the wedding as well. I was childhood friends with the father of the bride and the stepfather, and I got my dog Spike from the groom, so how could I say no?

The wedding and reception was held at the Mount Union American Legion Country Club. I was happy to see the same manager at this venue as the last timeI was there. I think they had gone through quite a few managers the past several years, but now have someone in charge that is really bringing some good things to this establishment. They took care of the whole event. The seating at the wedding, the food, which was delicious, and the bar. They also cleaned up things afterward. The manager there told me some pretty exciting things are in the works for the near future. I can’t wait to see them. The ALCC has had some ups and downs the past several years and I believe they are on the right track now.

I was able to get some photos of the bride and bridesmaids getting ready. They were having a blast. I had them turn the lights out and get their cell phones out. You will see a the result picture in the slideshow . I had tried this photo several times. The first, many years ago at a birthday party. The room was right for it and I think it worked out well.

We took a ton of photos with the bridesmaids and groomsmen before the wedding. We did as much as we could so after the wedding we wouldn’t have people waiting on their meal. That worked out well and I believe we got all of them done in less than an hour.

Since the wedding was in December we knew there would not be much daylight available outside so rather than do the family photos, we first went outside for the ten minutes of remaining light.

After the outside photos we moved in for a lot of family photos. A lot.

We then got to the reception and things went smoothly the rest of the evening. A giant thank you to everyone who made things so easy. The bride and groom, the parents and family and the folks at the Mount Union American Legion Country Club. I hope they enjoy the photos as much as I did taking them.

If you would like, you can contact me here or on my facebook photography page, where I will post more photos in the near future.
