Dylan E. Miller – Photoshoot

Dylan E. Miller

This is a photoshoot with Dylan is a Central Pennsylvania Musician, based in Huntingdon, PA. This is the second time I got to take photos with Dylan, the first was at the beautiful Edgewater Acres, located in Petersburg. At that time it was a nice breezy summer day and we had the luxury of a lot of a ton of cool places to shoot. Back to this shoot, a January day which was cold and cold enough to make us want to stay inside for most of the photos.

For this shoot Dylan had arranged for us to be able to go into the Clifton 5 on Washington Street. I think there is a lot of character to this building, although some of that, in my opinion has been lost since it has been split from one theatre to five. We made our way to the room that had the stage, which I believe is the largest room remaining. We did a bit of exploring the areas of the stage and a bit of wishing. Wishing the light sockets at the base of the stage would have had lights. I can only image the cool effect that would have had. Since we didn’t have those lights I did come prepared with a flash which I put on a stand and we began to shoot.

We spent about 45 minutes moving around the different areas in the theatre when we noticed the exit signs above doors near the steps of the stage. I was a bit apprehensive about opening, but Dylan, not so much. After exploring outside each door we decided to try a couple quick shots on the steps outside. When I picked Dylan up from his home, I mention to him I wanted to try to get a “high key” photo. I think I was able to do that although I am not sure how good it is.

After being outside we came back in and just for fun I asked Dylan to stand in front of me with his back to me. I placed the flash on the opposite side and sat in the theatre seat. When I got home I took it into photoshop and added some effect. Although it is completely different than all the other photos, I still kind of like it.

Thanks to Dylan for letting me do these and hope he enjoys them as much as I enjoyed taking them. For information you can use the contact form on this site or catch more on my photo facebook page. You can find more information about Dylan on his Facebook page.
