Abigail & Daniel – Wedding

Abigail and Daniel found me online somewhere, emailed me, met with me and then agreed to me being their photographer for their wedding. Little did anyone know what the year 2020 would bring.

Yes we know know that Covid-19 took away most activities in the first half of the year. When I saw an e-mail a month or maybe two before the wedding, I figured it might be a cancellation. It wasn’t, it was good news. The wedding was still going to take place. The venue was changing. It was originally set for Edgewater Acres near Alexandria PA. It was being moved to Creekside Venues in beautiful Big Valley.

The day finally arrives. I thought about this day a lot and hoped it would be a beautiful day. As for a bright sunshine filled day it was. BUT. It was HOT! This may have been the hottest wedding I ever had to work. My wife and I made a strategy to try not to pass out which included parking close to the wedding site.

Abigail and Daniel did did a first look prior to the wedding. This gave us the chance to get a few pictures of them and all the wedding party pictures out of the way before the ceremony.

It was a beautiful ceremony and featured music from a young lady playing the harp. The woman’s name is Julie Crystal and she did an amazing job.

The seats were aligned following the tree line which meant they were in the shade. Well, half of them were. The other half in direct sunlight. This included the DJ. I did get to chat with him. I think he wished he wouldn’t have worn a black shirt. I didn’t catch his name be he did great as well.

After the ceremony we left the venue for an old mill I where I had taken photos before. I was hoping to spend 45 minutes or so getting shots there. We looked at the clock and it turned out we only had about 15 minutes before we had to be back. We got as many as we could and headed back.

The couple was announced, the first dances happened as did the speeches and a delicious meal. Afterwards a cake cut some dancing and a sparkler exit (which I have to work on).

After all the festivities the couple rode off into the sunset.

Thank you Abigail and Daniel for an awesome day. We had so much fun!

I’ll post more photos on my facebook page soon. I hope you check those out and while you’re there you like the page.
